Our Historic Building:
The inn was created in the 1880's by a prominnet local ciitzen Marcelus Eldrige by moving and connecting 2 houses and a barn with an oxen team and log rollers to build a lodging house for seaweary sailors. Now our historic inn's 23 guest rooms have been updated to offer modern amenities while preserving it's original look and facade.
All rooms feature nautical colors complemented by bright, patterned quilts to create a traditional Cape Cod design and ambiance. In room conveniences include private bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, tower fans and flat-screen HD TV's with cable service.
Please be aware that we are a three story structure and do not have an elevator. We rely on the famous cool Chatham sea breeze and tower fans for cooling the rooms. The outdoor temperature almost always drops 20 degrees at night as the sun sets in the summer, as Chatham is surrounded by the cool Atlantic ocean waters on three sides. This is why residents of Boston and surrounding areas have been coming here for hundreds of years.
As you will find in most historic properties our rooms are not large but.....they are well appointed and meticoulsy clean.
Ideal for families or groups, this ocean-facing room offers a cozy Cape Cod décor, cool breezes and partial water views. 225 square feet of living space encompasses two Queen beds, private bathroom, free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV with cable and satellite channels and DVD player.
